A one on one exclusive interview with Alexa Sommers. Don’t miss this opportunity to delve into the devious mind behind the debauchery.
Tell us, who is Alexa Sommers?
Well, that’s not an easy question to answer and one I have been searching to uncover my entire life. I’m many things to many people but in this context I am a writer with a passion for the sensual. I thrive on the sexual pulse that lives in all situations and look to embrace it, take it to it’s illogical next step. I like to play with the standardized notions we, as a public, hold in regards to sexual discovery and I like to think I do it well.
What do you say to those that refer to your work as ‘word porn’?
I say read the work and make your own decision. I consider my writing erotic and not pornographic but the graphic nature does lead to the terminology you mentioned. I’m fine with any description it’s given as I am comfortable with what I write. I try to ensure that my work focuses on sexual build-up and exploration and not merely sex itself. The art of eroticism is not in the climax but rather the path one takes to get there.
What are you currently working on?
Right now the Level Up series is my primary focus. Level 1 of Dillon Strands and Suzanne Andrews story is set to release very soon and there are additional volumes currently in various states of creation. We intend to release a new volume every 6-8 weeks. I’ve also began planning two other series, each should end up being 3-6 volumes and I’m currently working out the timeline for release on those projects.
Level Up has received some strong early praise from Advanced Readers. Why do you think that is?
Headshot, the first volume of the series, was floated to a number of advance reviewers recently and I have been overwhelmed with the feedback received. I believe much of the positive response stems from how I view the sexual experience, as a journey as opposed to an act. For me, it’s about the build-up, the connection and the characters more than the final scene. It’s the exploration that makes the piece erotic as opposed to simply being crude.
Do you see yourself in any of your characters?
I see myself in all my characters to some extent. I live their lives, feel their emotions as I bring them to life, so in some way each of them is a part of me.
Any parting words?
Embrace your dreams, thrive to better yourself and your world and don’t ever forget that passion, true passion, is all about the journey.

- This series just keeps getting better and better. I’m sure it’s building up to a crescendo at some point, but for the time being the author keeps building up to a boiling point, again and again, and then lowering the pressure. With the skill of a master, she is engaged in a sort of literary […]Long Island
- This one from Alexa is even hotter than the first one. I wish I had gone to a college like this one… and I wish I had known the secret meaning of pigtails. So hot, you have to read this one.Shay
- One of the marks of a good writer is the ability to take a subject matter that you are unfamiliar with and present it in such an engaging way that you become lost in the details and find yourself desiring more. Alexa Sommers has done this for me. #GOODREADEmma S. Taylor
